A free anonymous room for talking music with whoever else is online — recommendations, opinions, whatever's on right now.
RoLivo's Music room is for anyone who wants to talk about what they're listening to, ask for recommendations, or debate a new release with people who actually have opinions on it — not a curated playlist or a bot, an actual conversation with whoever else has joined.
Find people into the same stuff
Tag Music as one of your interests when you join, and use the Filters panel to see who else in the room shares it. It's a faster way to find someone worth talking to than scanning nicknames and hoping.
How it works
- Pick a nickname and add Music to your interests.
- Switch into the Music room from the room switcher once you're in chat.
- Talk in the open room, or open a private 1-on-1 chat with anyone you click with.
No account, nothing saved
Same as everywhere else on RoLivo — no email, no password, and the conversation disappears when you close the tab. Read more about how that works on the FAQ page.
What if nobody's into the same genre as me?
The room's small enough that genres mix constantly — someone arguing about metal one message and recommending lo-fi the next. Tag Music as an interest and use Filters if you want to narrow who you're matched with instead.
Can I share links to songs?
Yes — links go through the same profanity filter and rate limit as any other message, so a normal recommendation posts fine, but spamming a room with links gets rate-limited like spamming text would.
Getting a real conversation going
"What are you listening to?" gets a one-word answer. "What's an album you loved this year that nobody you know has heard of?" gets a conversation. The room rewards a specific hook — a lyric, a live show you went to, a genre you used to hate and now don't, a producer whose fingerprints you keep noticing. Recommendations land better with one sentence on why than with a bare link.
Not a replacement for a music forum
If you want threaded discussion, rankings, and a back catalogue to search, a subreddit or a forum like RateYourMusic does that better — those are asynchronous and built to be browsed later. This room is the opposite: live, ephemeral, and gone when you leave. It's for the conversation you'd have with someone in a record shop, not the one you'd have in a comment section.
