About RoLivo
RoLivo is a small, anonymous live chat room. Pick a nickname, gender, and country, and you’re in — no email, no password, no account to manage. It’s built for a quick, casual conversation with whoever else happens to be online, not for building a profile or a following.
There’s one public room that everyone shares, plus the option to open a private 1-on-1 chat with anyone in the sidebar. Everything happens in real time over a live connection — no refreshing, no waiting.
Nothing is saved
Messages live only in the server’s memory for as long as it keeps running, and your identity lives only in your browser tab for as long as it stays open. Close the tab, and both are gone. There is no chat history to look back on, by design.
Keeping it usable
Messages are filtered for obvious profanity, sending is rate-limited to keep the room readable, and every user can report or block anyone directly from the sidebar. Who it’s for
People who want a conversation without the overhead — no profile to curate, no follower count, no history that follows them around. That covers a lot of situations: insomnia, a long commute, wanting to talk something through with someone who isn’t in your life, practising a language, or just curiosity about who’s online. It is not built for anything that needs a lasting identity, a group you return to, or a record of what was said.
How it’s built
RoLivo is two pieces: a website, and a small real-time server that relays messages and presence over a live connection. The server holds everything — who’s online, the rooms, a short buffer of recent messages — in memory only. There is no database. A restart disconnects everyone and clears that memory; the only things designed to survive it are active bans and open reports. That architecture is a deliberate constraint, not an unfinished feature: it’s what makes “nothing is saved” true rather than a promise.
What RoLivo deliberately leaves out
- Accounts, logins, and password resets.
- A searchable message archive or exportable history.
- Friends lists, followers, and public profiles.
- Video and voice — it’s text, with optional images in a chat.
- A paid tier. It’s free, and runs on ads to cover hosting.
How this differs from Omegle, Chatib, or Chatiw
Those sites typically pair you one-on-one with a random stranger and move on to the next when either of you leaves. RoLivo works more like a room — a shared public space you can drop into, with private 1-on-1 chats available whenever you want one, not as the only mode. More questions?
